Rooney, Graham Collect NE-10 Weekly Honors

Rooney named Player of the Week, Graham tabbed as Rookie of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (November 20, 2012) – Two members of the Stonehill College men's ice hockey team have earned Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) weekly honors, it was announced earlier today. Junior forward Bryan Rooney (Canton, Mass.) has garnered NE-10 Player of the Week accolades while freshman forward Dan Graham (Billerica, Mass.) was tabbed as the NE-10 Rookie of the Week.

Rooney led a Skyhawks offense that erupted in a 2-0 week overall netting four of Stonehill's 13 goals in two conference wins. The junior deposited a pair of goals in a 4-1 win over Southern New Hampshire University and two more against Assumption College on Saturday. It's the first time this season he has earned this honor from the conference.

Graham is also a first time recipient of an NE-10 weekly award this season after scoring one goal and dishing out one assist this past week for the Skyhawks. Graham recorded his first collegiate goal of his career at the 8:43 mark (unassisted) in the second period in Stonehill's 9-3 win over Assumption. Graham dished his first collegiate assist in the same stanza at the 3:20 mark.

Rooney currently ranks third on the team in scoring and sixth in the NE-10 with eight points on six goals and two assists. In his career, Rooney has compiled 38 points (24 goals, 14 assists) in 56 games played.

Stonehill (4-4-0, 2-0-0 NE-10) is back in action next Saturday, November 24, when it visits Trinity College in Connecticut for a non-conference matchup at 4 p.m.
