Balsamo chased Bowden with his first of the year off a feed from senior Christopher Gorovitz (Framingham, Mass./The Tilton School) at 5:42.

Stonehill wasn't finished in the period as Sabin scored his second of the year on a power play off Borges' first assist of the night, while junior Bill Carey (Weymouth, Mass.) also assisted on the play at 9:29. Dorgan's second of the year, assisted by Borges and junior Andrew Miller (Oxford, Conn./Kent School), put the Skyhawks up five goals at 14:56. Stonehill increased its lead to 8-0 with markers from Harris and Graham 8:43 into the second period. Graham assisted on Harris' fourth of the season at 3:20, along with freshman Thomas DePoalo (Mendham, N.J./Morristown Beard School), before Graham added his first collegiate goal. Assumption got on the board with a pair of goal three minutes apart in the second.
