WARWICK, R.I. (January 15, 2012) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team was blanked by Becker College, 2-0, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Thayer Arena in the fifth annual Andrew J. Gauthier Hockey Festival.

The festival featured seven games in total to help raise money for the Andrew J. Gauthier Scholarship Fund which benefits three local high school senior athletes each year. After a scoreless first period, sophomore forward Korby Anderson (Owantonna, Minn.) blasted a one-timer feed from teammate Branden Parkhouse (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) off of the post and past Skyhawks netminder Chris Tasiopoulos (Norwell, Mass./Thayer Academy) for a 1-0 lead and his team-leading 11th marker of the season.

Hawks freshman forward Ronald Kokas (Miramar, Fla.) put the game on ice at 17:20 of the third period converting on a breakaway goal for his third goal of the season.

Sophomore netminder Shaun Millerick (Hampton, N.H.) stopped 41 shots and made a game-high 20 saves in the third period to earn his first career collegiate shutout. Tasiopoulos turned away 27 shots for the Skyhawks.
