2009 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. Letterwinner and team captain in hockey. Winner of the Mike Bavis Award. Also lettered in track (javelin) and served as a class representative. Played junior hockey with the South Shore Kings, where he was a member of the 2009-10 national championship runner-up team.

Born April 14, 1990, Boston, Mass. Son of Paul and Denise Carey of Weymouth, Mass. Has four siblings, Jim (32), Joe (30), Paul (22), who plays hockey at Boston College, and Bridget (14). Majoring in business. Greatest sports moment was winning the Massachusetts Division 1 high school championship with Catholic Memorial.
