Jackson Earns Second-Straight
NE-10 Goaltender of the Week Award

Little Silver, N.J., native selected for second-straight week following record-setting performances

EASTON, Mass. (December 7, 2009) - Stonehill College sophomore Tyler Jackson (Little Silver, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) has earned his second-straight Northeast-10 Goaltender of the Week honor by the Conference office today.

Jackson, who earned the award for the first time in his career last Monday, led Stonehill to a pair of wins this past week as they ran their winning streak to three-straight. He posted a 1.00 goals against average and .963 save percentage while averaging 26 saves per game with one shutout for the week. Jackson stopped all 20 shots on goal he faced to claim his program-record second straight shutout in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Worcester State College. He added 32 saves, including 17 in the third period alone, in Saturday's 3-2 NE-10 win at Southern New Hampshire University.

It marks fourth time this season a Stonehill player has earned NE-10 Goaltender of the Week honors as junior teammate Michael Manna (Framingham, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) earned the award in back-to-back weeks as well to open the season.

Jackson, who saw his program record shutout streak of 149:07 come to an end early in the second period of Saturday's win at SNHU, has taken over the Northeast-10 lead with his 2.40 goals against average and .920 save percentage this season. In 299:40 played in five appearances for Stonehill this season he has posted a 3-2-0 record with a program-record matching two shutouts, averaging 27.6 saves per game.

Jackson has played 359:40 over his six career appearances in two seasons at Stonehill, posting a 2.67 GAA and .912 save percentage while averaging 27.5 saves per game.

Stonehill (5-6-1, 1-2-0 NE-10) closes out its first semester schedule with a pair of non-conference games this week. The Skyhawks host the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth tomorrow night at the Foxborough Sports Center at 7 p.m., before visiting Salve Regina University on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
