Roundy voted to All-Northeast-10 second team
Gorovitz and Borges named to NE-10 All-Rookie team

EASTON, Mass. (March 5, 2010) - Three members of the Stonehill College ice hockey team have earned postseason honors in the Northeast-10 Conference as selected by the league's six head coaches.

Senior captain Peter Roundy (Simsbury, Conn./Kimball Union) has earned All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time after his selection to the second team. Freshmen Christopher Gorovitz (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) and Dana Borges (Taunton, Mass./Coyle & Cassidy) have both been named to the NE-10's All-Rookie team.

Roundy appeared in all 27 games for Stonehill in his final collegiate season and leads the team with 29 points (7th NE-10) and 19 assists (5th) to go with ten goals (13th). He ranks fourth in the NE-10 with 15 power-play points (4-11-15), ranking tenth for power-play goals, to go with a team-high three game-winning tallies (2nd). Roundy earned NE-10 Player of the Week honors three times this season. He was also recently named to both the NE-10 Commissioner's and Stonehill Athletic Director's Honor Rolls for the fall semester.


Roundy

Roundy finished with 100 games played in his four-year collegiate career at Stonehill. He ranks fifth in program history with 63 career assists, to go with 28 goals for 91 points over his career for the Skyhawks. Roundy also posted six power-play goals, four game-winners and one shorthanded tally over his career. He earned All-Championship team honors at the 2009 NE-10 Tournament, leading the Skyhawks to a second appearance in the Conference Championship game in three years. Roundy was also a member of Stonehill's 2007 NE-10 Championship team as a freshman,


Gorovitz

Gorovitz played 26 of Stonehill's 27 games in his first collegiate season and finished second on the team with 11 goals (10th) to go with seven assists for 18 points. He chipped in with three power-play goals and two game-winners (5th). Gorovitz earned NE-10 Freshman of the Week honors twice and Player of the Week honors once after posting five goals and an assist for six points for the week ending February 22.

Gorovitz has also been recognized for his efforts in the classroom by being named to the NE-10 Commissioner's and Stonehill Athletic Director's Honor Rolls following the fall 2009 semester.


Borges

Borges played 25 of Stonehill's 27 games in his first collegiate season and posted six goals and ten assists for 16 points. He shares the team lead with five power-play goals (7th), ranking eighth in the NE-10 in power-play points (5-8-13).

Borges was also recognized for his efforts in the classroom in his first year at Stonehill with a spot on both the NE-10 Commissioner's and Stonehill Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Stonehill finished its season with a 10-16-1 record overall, 2-9-0 in NE-10 play. The Skyhawks, who set a program record with three shutouts the season and finished above .500 entering its annual mid-year break for the first time in program history, advanced to the NE-10 Tournament semifinals for the fifth-straight season.
