Manna, Rudowitz Named Winter Academic All-Conference

Easton, Mass. - Sophomore ice hockey goaltender Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.) and men's basketball forward A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.) have both been named to their respective all-academic teams it has been announced by the Northeast-10 Conference.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

Manna, the 2007-08 Northeast-10 Co-Freshman and Goaltender of the Year, appeared in 14 games between the pipes for the Skyhawks in 2008-09, registering a 4-7-1 overall record with a conference-leading 3.31 goals against average. He posted his first career shutout in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Tournament - a 5-0 win over Franklin Pierce and also turned away a career-best 46 shots in a loss to Curry. A finance major, Manna was also named to the ECAC All-Academic team.

Rudowitz, meanwhile, earns his second straight all-academic honor following a junior season that saw him earn first-team All-Northeast-10 accolades while averaging 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds. He eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier midway though the season and was named to the Named ESPN the Magazine second-team academic all-district squad for the second straight season as well.
