Bridgewater, Mass. -
Under the shadow of their 2006-2007 Conference Championship banner, the Skyhawks (4-5-1, 2-1 NE-10) defended their home ice - defeating conference foe Franklin Pierce (2-9-0, 0-2 NE-10) soundly, 6-1.  Six different Skyhawks would score for Stonehill, who took an early lead and never relinquished it.

The Skyhawks' scoring spree started midway through the first period when Frank Amato (West Springfield, Mass.) claimed his fourth goal of the season.  Chase Feole (Windham, N.H.) would match Amato's goal, brushing in a loose puck minutes later to give the host team a 2-0 advantage.

Junior defenseman Bill Ninteau (Litchfield, N.H.) flipped in a speedy wrist-shot from mid-ice as time ticked away in the first period.  An intercepted pass led to the Ravens' lone marker of the evening, scored by Phil Labreck with 28 seconds remaining.

Paul Reissfelder (Plymouth, Mass.) netted his second goal of the season to extend Stonehill's lead back to three goals.  Reissfelder's power play score came in the 17th minute of the second period.

The Skyhawks' leading scorer, Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine) added his sixth marker of the year to give Stonehill a comfortable four goal advantage.  Anthony Zanetti's (Ludlow, Mass.) power play goal with minutes remaining sealed a second straight win for the Purple and White.

Freshman goaltender Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.) improved his personal record to 2-1 with a 32 save performance.  The Skyhawks out-shot the Ravens 46-33 on evening.

In addition to his goal, Curran finished the night with two assists.  Junior Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) registered his 100th collegiate point after claiming four assists Monday night.  O'Brien leads the team with four goals and nine assists for 13 points thus far.

The Skyhawks will return to action after the holiday break, on Saturday, January 26th.  The game is scheduled from 2:00 PM against Worcester State.
