BRIDGEWATER, Mass.-- Junior Anthony Zanetti's (Ludlow, Mass.) power play goal with 3:35 remaining in the second period lifted Stonehill to a 4-3 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Salve Regina Thursday evening at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.

Senior Matt Gorman (Southboro, Mass.) made 33 saves in goal in the triumph for the host Skyhawks (8-10-1, 6-8-1 ECAC Northeast), including 20 stops in the final period alone as well as a penalty shot save late in the middle stanza, as Stonehill overcame a pair of deficits to run its unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1).

The visiting Seahawks (7-13-1, 5-7 ECAC Northeast) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by sophomore Jake Pickard (Wellfleet, Mass.) and junior Jake Noonan (Arlington, Mass.) that came 39 seconds apart in the opening period, but the Skyhawks evened matters with two markers in a 2:38 span that came off the sticks of sophomore Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) and junior Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine), with the latter a power play goal that forged a 2-2 tie after 20 minutes of play. Salve Regina gained a 3-2 edge at the 11:46 mark of the second period on freshman Tyler Trott's (Rehoboth, Mass.) breakaway tally, but Curran's second goal of the night just 1:20 later evened matters once again for Stonehill, setting up Zanetti's game-winner late in the period and Gorman's heroics in the final stanza for the hosts.

Freshman Pete Roundy (Simsbury, Conn.) tied O'Brien's school single-game record by assisting on all four goals for the Skyhawks, who also received single assists from Curran and freshman Chris Rogers (Westford, Mass.). Pickard added an assist to go with his goal in the setback for the Seahawks, who also received single helpers off the sticks of junior Richie Rice (Hampton Falls, N.H.), sophomore Nick Bartelloni (Norfolk, Mass.) and freshman Patrick Bambery (Braintree, Mass.). Sophomore Chase Goodrich (Salisbury, Vt.) made 18 saves in goal for Salve Regina on the evening, as the Seahawks outshot Stonehill by a 36-22 margin.

Stonehill hosts Franklin Pierce in a non-league contest on Saturday afternoon at the Bridgewater Ice Arena beginning at 5:40 p.m., while Salve Regina travels to West Springfield, Mass. on Saturday evening to take on Western New England in an ECAC Northeast match-up that faces off at 8:30 p.m.
