WINCHENDON, Mass.-- Senior Brian Dudley (Waltham, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 5:04 remaining, as Stonehill picked up its 10th victory in the last 11 outings with a 5-3 non-league college ice hockey triumph over Franklin Pierce Saturday afternoon at Robinson Broadhurst Arena.

The visiting Skyhawks (13-7), who have now amassed the second highest single-season win total in school history, trailed 3-2 heading into the final period of play before freshman Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) evened matters 7:54 into the final stanza. Dudley then converted feeds from sophomores John Durkin (Scituate, Mass.) and Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine) on the game-winner at the 14:56 mark to give Stonehill a 4-3 lead, and Curran's empty-netter with 1:04 remaining iced the triumph for the visitors.

Dudley's first goal of the day, a power play marker with 1:52 remaining in the opening stanza, gave Stonehill an early 1-0 advantage, but the host Ravens (1-15-4) used goals off the sticks of freshmen Ed Kus (Webster, Mass.) and Shane Murphy (Tolland, Conn.) that came 39 seconds apart early in the middle period to take a 2-1 lead. Senior Brian Lewis (Cohasset, Mass.) evened matters for the Skyhawks with his 16th goal of the season at the 5:07 mark, but Franklin Pierce took a 3-2 edge after 40 minutes of play on sophomore Joseph Fields's power play tally, setting up Stonehill's third period comeback.

Curran finished with a goal and three assists for four points in the win for Stonehill, which also received a goal and an assist from O'Brien as well as single helpers off the sticks of junior Matt Pollara (Plymouth, Mass.), sophomore Anthony Zanetti (Ludlow, Mass.) and freshman James Killeen (Derry, N.H.). Senior Jason Pierce (Maynard, Mass.), juniors Brad Leighton (Cumberland, Maine) and C.J. Demmons (Wolfeboro, N.H.), along with sophomores Ben Reynolds (Wallingford, Pa.) and Peter Wilson (Marshfield, Mass.), each collected single assists on the afternoon for Franklin Pierce.

Junior Matt Gorman (Southboro, Mass.) picked up his third win in four decisions in goal for Stonehill with a 35-save effort, while senior Robert Arduini (Fulton, N.Y.) made 46 stops in net for Franklin Pierce as the Skyhawks outshot the Ravens by a 51-38 margin for the contest and completed a two-game season series sweep in the process.
