FRAMINGHAM, Mass.-- Senior Brian Lewis (Cohasset, Mass.) and sophomore Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine) each netted a pair of goals as Stonehill extended its school-record winning streak to nine straight with a 7-1 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Framingham State Tuesday evening at Loring Arena.

The visiting Skyhawks (12-6, 8-5 ECAC Northeast) erupted for five goals in the opening period of play, including tallies by Curran and sophomore Brian Davis (Foxboro, Mass.) in a 13-second span over the first 1:45 of action. Lewis sandwiched both of his markers around Curran's second goal to close out the first period scoring, and the host Rams (5-14-1, 2-10 ECAC Northeast) got on the board 5:52 into the middle stanza when freshman Oliver Myer (Montpelier, Vt.) netted their lone goal of the night. Power play tallies off the sticks of senior Brian Dudley (Waltham, Mass.) and sophomore Anthony Zanetti (Ludlow, Mass.) closed out the scoring in the third period for Stonehill, which has scored 20 total goals in its last two contests.

Junior Matt Pollara (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore John Durkin (Scituate, Mass.) each added two assists in the win for Stonehill, which also received single assists off the sticks of Dudley, senior Jack McGroarty (Oak Bluffs, Mass.), sophomore Chase Feole (Windham, N.H.) and freshman Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.). Sophomore Stephen Butler (Dorchester, Mass.) and freshman Brandon Reith (Gloucester, Mass.) assisted on Myer's goal for Framingham State.

Juniors Josh Green (Mendon, Mass.) and Matt Gorman (Southboro, Mass.), along with senior Billy Petrucci (East Bridgewater, Mass.), combined for 35 saves in goal for Stonehill, while sophomore Patrick Sampson (Braintree, Mass.) made 45 stops in net for Framingham State as the Skyhawks outshot the Rams by a 52-36 margin for the contest.
