Moreton Named to USA East Coast 2019 Touring Squad

Minneapolis, Minnesota, rising senior will tour Greece and compete against Greek A-1, A-2 and Federation opposition this week

EASTON, Mass. (June 10, 2019) – Stonehill College rising senior Will Moreton has been selected to represent the men's basketball program with the 2019 USA East Coast Basketball team that will compete against top-level international competition in Greece later this week.

Moreton is among three small college student-athletes, including two from NCAA Division II, selected to the 11-person team that is spending two days training at Columbia University in New York City, before embarking on a weeklong trip to Athens, Greece, where it will play four games before returning to the United States on June 16. Syracuse University associate head coach Adrian Autry serves as head coach of the team that also includes student-athletes from University of North Carolina, Syracuse, University of Notre Dame, University of Iowa and Columbia, along with fellow Division II student-athlete Caleb Smith from Northeastern State University and Fenton Bradley, Jr., from Western Connecticut State University.

USA East Coast, formerly called the East Coast All-Stars, is in its 14th year of existence. The tour has visited 13 different countries, providing competitive games, guided tours, youth clinics and the opportunity to travel the world. Moreton and this year's team will compete against the Greek National Team on Saturday, June 15, after playing professional club teams from Greece on June 12, 13 and 14. All games will be live streamed with times to be determined. Moreton, a two-time All-NE10 second team selection, was the lone player to start all 29 games for Stonehill this past season, having started all 85 games of his collegiate career. He led the NE10 and ranked 25th nationally in Division II with his 12 double-doubles last season, giving him 19 over his career, leading the Skyhawks with 18.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.2 minutes per game. Moreton ranked eighth among NE10 scoring leaders, second in rebounding, including a Conference-best 7.4 defensive boards per game (13th nationally) and 13th in steals. He shot 43.8-percent from the field, including 36% (67-for-186) from three-point distance, and 78.9% (90-114) from the free-throw line.

Moreton became the program's 40th 1,000-point scorer when he netted 35 points in a win over Concordia (N.Y.) College on December 16. He enters his senior year ranked 20th in program history with 1,294 career points, while his 188 career three-pointers rank fifth all-time, having produced back-to-back 500-point seasons. Moreton has also totaled 593 rebounds, 201 assists, 92 steals and 57 blocked shots over his career. He has totaled 65 career double-figure games, including 19 games with 20-plus points and four 30-plus point games, netting a career-best 40 points in a win over Franklin Pierce University on February 16, marking the program's first 40-point game since 1998.

Stonehill wrapped up its 2018-19 season with a 14-15 record overall, including 8-13 in the NE10 to finish fifth in the Northeast Division to earn the program's 32nd NE10 Tournament appearance.
