COLCHESTER, Vt. (February 6, 2018) – Stonehill College kept its February push going with a 93-71 victory over Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball action at the Ross Sports Center tonight.

Sophomores Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minnesota/Edina) and Brandon Twitty (Randolph, Massachusetts/Catholic Memorial) combined for 55 points to lead Stonehill to its third straight win and fifth victory over its last six. Moreton scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the second half, finishing 11-for-20 from the field, including 4-for-7 from three-point distance, while converting 4-of-5 free-throws with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Twitty added 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 5-for-9 from deep, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Sophomore Dan Largey (Oceanport, New Jersey/Peddie School) rounded out Stonehill's double-figure scorers with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point distance, and three boards. Junior Levi Holmes III (East Brunswick, New Jersey/Rutgers Prep) led Saint Michael's with 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting and four rebounds. Sophomore Eli DiGrande (Essex Junction, Vermont/Essex) added 14 points (12 first half), eight rebounds and two blocked shots, while junior Derek Cheatom (Buffalo, New York/The Park School of Buffalo) contributed 11 points, four boards and four assists.

Stonehill took advantage of 18 Saint Michael's turnovers, while committing just seven themselves, into a 27-7 edge in points off. The Skyhawks took a four-point lead (41-37) into the second half, but Saint Michael's opened the frame by outscoring the visitors 8-2 over the first four and a half minutes to grab the lead (45-43) after two free-throws from DiGrande.

Stonehill reclaimed the lead and then used a 14-0 run to open a 16-point lead (63-47) midway through the half after back-to-back baskets from Moreton, who scored six points in all during that stretch. Largey and senior Paul Graves (Marion, Massachusetts/Old Rochester Regional) aided the run with three-pointers.

Stonehill's lead didn't dip inside double-figures the rest of the way, stretching its lead to 18 (70-52) with a Twitty three-pointer with 8:37 remaining. The Skyhawks lead peaked at 27 (90-63) with 2:23 left after the Skyhawks drained five three-pointers, including four by Moreton who also converted a conventional three-point play, during a 20-6 run that sealed the win.
