EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2016) – Stonehill College senior forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) is among 100 student-athletes across NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA named to Small College Basketball's "Watch List" for the 2017 Bevo Francis Award to be announced in April.

Logan, who is one of three Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes named to the "Watch List," is the first Stonehill student-athlete to be named in the award's second year. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within small college basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. Davenport (Mich.) University's Dominez Burnett earned the inaugural award in 2016.

Logan, named a preseason All-American by The Sporting News and Basketball Times, leads Stonehill in scoring (17.2 points per game), rebounding (6.5), assists (3.8) and steals (1.0) this season, averaging 30.8 minutes per contest through 17 games. He is shooting 52.8-percent from the field (113-for-214), including 40.8% (20-49) from three-point range, and converting 75.8% (47-62) of his free-throws. Logan ranks ninth among NE10 scoring leaders, tenth for assists per game, 14th in rebounds per game, including ninth for defensive rebounds per game (6.6), 16th in three-point shooting percentage and 17th for field goal percentage.

Logan, named the Spalding/NE10 Player of the Week once this season (fourth career), has scored in double figures in 15 of Stonehill's 17 games this season (85 of 105 career), with seven 20-point games, including a season-high 26 points in a key 87-83 win over the University of Bridgeport on December 31. He has recorded two double-doubles this season (22 career), grabbing a season-best 12 rebounds in a 97-86 win at Saint Anselm College on November 19. In addition to his two preseason All-America plaudits, Logan is a Division II Bulletin Preseason Super 16 honorable mention choice this season.

Logan, a two-time All-NE10 selection, earning first team honors as a junior after being a third team honoree as a sophomore, was named to the NABC All-Region second team last season in leading Stonehill to its third NCAA Division II East Regional title in the last ten years. He has started all 105 games of his Stonehill career and ranks seventh in program history with 1,570 points (15.0 ppg), while also totaling 756 rebounds, 325 assists, 95 steals and 42 blocked shots. Logan is a 45.4-percent shooter for his career, including 37.5% from three-point distance, and a 71.9% free-throw shooter. His 124 career three-pointers are just seven shy of cracking the program's career top ten.

Logan, one of just eight in Stonehill history with over 1,500 career points, earned NE10 All-Rookie Team status as a freshman. He has three career 30-point games, including a career-best 36 points in an NE10 Tournament Quarterfinal win at Adelphi University on February 28, 2016. He pulled down a career-high 20 rebounds against Saint Anselm on November 21, 2015. Logan was the lone NE10 men's basketball player to rank among the Conference's top ten in scoring (9th), rebounding (7th) and assists (6th) as a junior.

Small College Basketball's Bevo Francis Award committee, consisting of 19 coaches and administrators from across the country, will trim this first "Watch List" down to 50 student-athletes on February 15 and then 25 on March 15. On April 1, the finalists will be released, with the final award winner presented on April 3.

Bevo Francis played at Rio Grande College (now the University of Rio Grande) in Ohio in 1952-53 and 1953-54. When he arrived on campus, the school had 38 male students enrolled in the school and was on the verge of bankruptcy, planning to close its doors at the end of the 1952-53 school year. In the season before Bevo arrived at Rio Grande, the Redmen (now the Red Storm) had gone 4-19. During his two seasons at Rio Grande, Bevo became the most popular basketball player in the world, and ultimately helped to save the school from bankruptcy. During his first year, the Redmen went 39-0, and Bevo scored 1,954 points and averaged 50.1 points per game.

Stonehill (10-7, 5-6 NE10), ranked eighth in the most recent D2SIDA East Regional poll, is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Adelphi University, ranked seventh in the region, for a big NE10 matchup at Merkert Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
