Stonehill (20-7, 15-6 NE-10) is in the NE-10 Tournament for the second straight year after a three year hiatus, making its 30^th appearance all-time. The Skyhawks, which have hit the 20-win plateau for the first time under third year head coach Chris Kraus '06, the 15^th time in program history overall and first since its NE-10 Tournament Championship season 2011-12 on its way to the National Semifinal round of the NCAA Division II Tournament, seeks their fifth tournament title in program history, winning the first two championships in Conference history in 1981 and '82 to go with victories in 1989 as well as the 2012 crown. Stonehill has reached the semifinal round of the tournament on nine occasions, with six championship game appearances.

Stonehill enters the postseason winners of two straight and five of seven in the month of February following an 84-71 victory at Saint Michael's College to close out the regular season on Tuesday night. The Skyhawks are ranked third in the Northeast-10 for scoring defense (71.1 ppg) and rebounding margin (+5.3), while ranking fifth in steals (6.5) and opposing turnovers per game (13.3), sixth in blocked shots per game (3.1), tenth in field goal percentage defense (.442) and 11^th in three-point percentage defense (.360). Stonehill also boasts one of the top offenses in the league, ranking fifth in scoring (79.2 ppg), second in three-point percentage (.401) and assists per game (16.6), fourth in field goal percentage (.463) and free-throw percentage (.756), while committing the third fewest fouls per game (15.6) in the league.

Stonehill is led by a trio of All-Northeast-10 Conference selections hailing from the Buckeye State of Ohio. Junior Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown), a two time All-Conference performer who was named to the first team on Thursday, is averaging a team-high 17.3 points per game (11^th NE-10), shooting 44.5-percent from the field and 73.6-percent from the free-throw line (67-91), with 8.4 rebounds (7^th), a team-high four assists (6^th) and a steal per game. Logan, a two-time Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week this season, is second in the team with nine double-doubles (18 career).

Seniors Carter Smith (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and Pierce Cumpstone (Bainbridge Township, Ohio/Kenston), both third team All-Northeast-10 selections this season, offer support of Logan. Smith is averaging 16.3 points per game (12^th NE-10) on 46-percent shooting, including 45.6% (82-for-180) from three-point distance (6^th), connecting at 85% (85-100) from the free-throw line (9^th), with 3.9 assists (8^th) per game, while adding 2.6 rebounds and a team-high 1.4 steals (5^th) in 33.5 minutes per game (11^th). Cumpstone leads the team with 11 double-doubles (15 career), including a run of six straight in February, and adds 13.9 points per game to go with a team-high 9.8 rebounds (4^th NE-10) and 1.8 blocked shots (5^th) per game, shooting a team-best 53.7-percent from the floor (9^th), including 40.6% (41-101) from three-point distance, and converting 75% (33-44) of his free-throws.

Senior Adam Bramanti (Middleton, Massachusetts/Masconomet) chips in 10.3 points on 42.9-percent shooting, including 39.9% (63-for-158) from three-point range, converting 89.7% (35-39) of his free-throws with 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals.

Adelphi (20-8, 12-8 NE-10) is back in the NE-10 Tournament for the fifth time since joining the Conference in 2009 after missing the event the last two years. Despite its short NE-10 history, the Panthers have reached the championship game twice, winning the title in 2011 as the No. 7 seed. Adelphi rides into the postseason winners of three of its last four following an 88-71 triumph over American International College in the regular season finale on Tuesday. The Panthers are ranked sixth in the NE-10 for scoring offense (79.1 ppg) and tenth in scoring defense (76.5 ppg), leading the Conference in field goal percentage defense (.417) and three-point percentage defense (.320), while also ranking second in free-throw percentage (.763), fifth for blocked shots per game (3.3), sixth in assists per game (15.0), seventh in field goal percentage (.453) and three-point percentage (.369).

Senior Anthony Libroia (Bayside, New York/Holy Cross), a second team All-Northeast-10 selection, and sophomore Michael Coffey (Monroe, New York/John S. Burke) average a combined 31 points per game to lead Adelphi. Libroia averages a team-high 15.6 points per game on 53.6-percent shooting from the field (11^th NE-10), including 48.5% (33-for-68) from three-point distance (3^rd), while converting 81.7% (103-126) of his free-throws (10^th) to go with 4.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists (2^nd) and a shade under a steal per game. Coffey is close behind with 15.4 points per game on 43.7% shooting, connecting at 39.2% (82-209) from beyond the arc, while adding 4.1 boards per contest.

Sophomore Manny Suarez (Cliffside Park, New Jersey/Marist), a transfer from Fordham University, is an honorable mention All-Conference pick with 12.4 points on 45.1% shooting from the floor and 75.9% (44-58) from the line with 7.6 rebounds (10^th) and league-best 2.4 blocked shots per outing. Senior Ryan DeNicola (Massapequa, New York/Long Island Lutheran) pulls down a team-high 8.7 rebounds (6^th) and chips in 6.9 points per game.

Sunday will mark the fifth postseason encounter between these two programs, the third in the NE-10 Tournament. The Skyhawks have won four of the five previous postseason meetings, splitting the two prior NE-10 Tournament matchups. The two programs met twice in the postseason in 2012 with Stonehill posting a 73-60 victory in Garden City, New York, in the semifinal round of the NE-10 Tournament on its way to the championship before adding a 68-58 triumph in the NCAA Division II East Regional as the Skyhawks went on to claim their second regional championship and Elite Eight berth.

Stonehill posted a 77-60 victory in the lone regular season encounter between the two in Garden City on January 20. Logan posted a double-double with a game-high 25 points (14 second half) and 17 rebounds with two assists as he made 9-of-17 shots from the field and converted 6-of-9 free-throws for the night. Cumpstone nearly joined Logan with a double-double, scoring 18 of his 20 points in the second half to go with nine rebounds as he made 7-of-10 shots from the floor and 6-of-7 free-throws. Coffey and freshman Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, New York/Brentwood) paced a balanced effort for Adelphi with 14 points each. Coffey made 5-of-14 shots from the field and added a team-high seven rebounds with two assists, while Ginyard converted all six free-throw attempts while shooting 4-for-11 from the floor off the bench with three boards.

The winner of Sunday's game will advance to Wednesday's semifinal round (7 p.m.) to face the winner of Sunday's matchup between Bentley University (19-7, 16-5 NE-10), the top seed from the Northeast Division, and the winner of tonight's first round clash between Northeast No. 5 Franklin Pierce University (15-11, 12-9 NE-10) and Southwest No. 4 Le Moyne College (10-16, 7-13 NE-10). The NE-10 Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m.
