Senior forward Pierce Cumpstone (Bainbridge Township, Ohio/Kenston) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the first time in his career, while sophomore forward Joel Berroa (Lawrence, Massachusetts/Central Catholic) has collected Spalding NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors for the first time. The duo helped lead the Skyhawks to a 2-0 week, with Cumpstone earning the team's fourth Player of the Week award this season after junior Ryan Logan's (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) three earlier selections.

Cumpstone notched pair of double-doubles in Stonehill's two games last week as he averaged 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, shooting 68-percent from the field (17-for-25), including 6-for-10 (60%) from three-point distance, while converting 5-of-6 (83.3%) free-throw attempts. He also contributed two assists, 1.5 steals and a blocked shot per game for the week.

Cumpstone led Stonehill to a 92-71 win over rival Bentley University on Wednesday night with his sixth double-double of the season by scoring a career-high 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field, including 5-for-7 from three-point distance, with 15 rebounds and two steals. He notched his 11th career double-double in Saturday's 81-79 win at Franklin Pierce University with 18 points and a game-high ten rebounds with three assists as he made 6-of-10 shots and converted 5-of-6 free-throws.

Cumpstone ranks third on the team for Stonehill with 13.2 points per game, shooting 53.9-percent from the field (9^th NE-10, including 38% (30-of-79) from three-point distance, converting 71.4% (25-35) of his free-throws. He leads the team with 9.3 rebounds (5^th) and 1.7 blocked shots (5^th) per game, while adding 1.3 assists and a steal in 30.7 minutes per contest over 21 games played, with 13 starts. His seven double-doubles this season rank second on the team to Logan, who has eight, with the Skyhawks posting a combined 17 double-doubles in 22 games this season.

Cumpstone has started 23 of the 89 games he has played over his Stonehill career, having totaled 808 points and 490 rebounds with 73 assists, 63 steals and 101 blocked shots. He is a 45.3-percent field goal shooter over his career, including 31.6% (95-for-301) from three-point distance, and 74.7% (65-87) free-throw shooter, averaging 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game over his career. Cumpstone has been selected to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll all seven semesters to date and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll three semesters.

Berroa is Stonehill's first Rookie of the Week since Logan collected the honors four times in 2013-14. Berroa didn't miss a shot over the Skyhawks two games, connecting on all nine field goals, including a trio of three-pointers, and both free-throw attempts to average 11.5 points with 2.5 rebounds per game. He made all six of his shots from the field, including a pair of threes, for a career-high 14 points and three rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's win over Bentley. He followed that up by connecting on all three of his shots from the floor, including a three-pointer, for nine points off the bench at Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Berroa is contributing 3.8 points in 11 minutes per game off the bench for Stonehill this season. He is shooting 52.5-percent from the floor, including 7-for-14 (50%) from beyond the arc, with 2.8 rebounds per game.

Stonehill (17-5, 12-4 NE-10), which moved up three spots to No. 3 in this week's D2SIDA East Regional poll, is back in action for a pair of home games this week, both of which will be broadcast on a tape delay basis by Easton Community Access Television, starting tomorrow night when it hosts Merrimack College for an NE-10 matchup at 7:30 p.m. The Skyhawks host Assumption College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
