Logan Named Spalding NE-10 Rookie of the Week

Fredericktown, Ohio, freshman collects weekly honor for fourth time this season 

EASTON, Mass. (February 25, 2014) – Stonehill College freshman forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the fourth time by the Conference office.

Logan, who is one of two freshmen to have been named Rookie of the Week in the NE-10 a league-high four times this season, averaged 16.5 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a blocked shot and a steal in a 1-1 week for Stonehill. He made 43.5-percent (10-for-23) of his shots from the field, including 4-for-9 (44.4%) from three-point range, and converted all nine free-throw attempts for the week. Logan netted 22 points in Saturday's 97-83 triumph over rival Bentley University on 7-of-16 shooting, including 3-for-7 from beyond the arc, while converting all five of his free-throws to go with eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. He notched his third double-double of the season in Wednesday's 76-73 setback to Franklin Pierce University with 11 points and a game-high ten rebounds with two assists and two steals

Logan is one of two Stonehill players to start all 25 games this season and leads the Skyhawks in scoring with 11.5 points per game on 42.7-percent (99-for-232) shooting, including 42.6% (23-54) from three-point range, while converting 72% (67-93) of his free-throw attempts for the season. He also adds 6.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28.6 minutes per contest. Logan has led the Skyhawks in scoring seven games during his freshman season and rebounding eight times. He also collected NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 11, December 16 and 23.

Logan was an All-State performer as a junior and senior at Fredericktown High School, earning Mid-Ohio Conference MVP honors as a junior. He scored 1,501 over his career, setting a new school record.

Stonehill (8-17, 5-15 NE-10) is back in action on Tuesday night when it closes out its 2013-14 season by hosting Saint Anselm College at 7:30 p.m.
