Skyhawks make first television appearance since 2012 NCAA national semifinal
EASTON, Mass. (February 12, 2014) – Saturday's Stonehill College Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball matchup at Southern New Hampshire University will be televised live on WBIN-TV at 4 p.m. The game will be produced by Pack Network, Stonehill's partner in offering live video webcasts of several home athletic events, including men's and women's basketball.
WBIN, based in Derry, N.H., is seen in 2.4 million households representing six million viewers both over the air and through all major cable systems throughout New Hampshire and the Boston designated media area. The independent station offers both entertainment and public affairs programming, as well as live sporting events featuring several Division I institutions.

Pack Network is a Boston-based company that specializes in video production, web-based applications and graphic and web design projects of all sizes. Formed in 2007, the company partners with schools and conferences to provide live video production and webcast services, while recently branching out into television productions delivered over the internet. Pack Network has been Stonehill's webcast partner since August 2009 and also handles production for Southern New Hampshire and numerous Northeast-10 Conference championships. The Stonehill men's basketball team will be making its first television appearance since its 2012 NCAA Division II national semifinal matchup with eventual national champions Western Washington University on CBS Sports Network, a 71-66 setback, at the Elite Eight in Highland Heights, Ky. Stonehill (7-15, 4-13 NE-10) will be looking to bounce back from an 82-78 setback at Assumption College last night in Worcester, Mass. The Skyhawks last six games have been decided by an average of 4.5 points, with their four losses during that stretch decided by four points or less. Stonehill features five players averaging double-figures, with four of those being freshmen or sophomores.
Freshman Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) leads the way with 11.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, while sophomore Pierce Cumpstone (Bainbridge Township, Ohio/Kenston) adding 11 points, 6.2 rebounds and a team-high 1.1 blocked shots per game. Cumpstone is leading the team with 15.5 points on 53.1-percent shooting and seven rebounds per game over the last eight games. Junior Jack Cole (New Providence, N.J./New Providence), a freshman on the Skyhawks 2012 Elite Eight squad which won the East Region championship for the second time in program history as well as the NE-10 Tournament crown, is registering 10.3 points, a team-high 8.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, shooting 53.1% from the floor.
Southern New Hampshire (11-10, 8-9 NE-10), the defending NE-10 tournament champions, has also dropped two straight and four of five overall after a 76-75 setback at Franklin Pierce University last night. Junior Elijah Bonsignore (Felton, Del./Saint Thomas More) leads four Penmen in double-figures with 14.1 points on 54.8-percent shooting, 6.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.9 blocked shots per game. SNHU posted a 67-55 victory over Stonehill in their first meeting of the season on December 7 in Easton, Mass., behind 21 points and eight rebounds from sophomore Rodney Sanders (Linden, N.J./Saint Thomas More).
Stonehill returns home to host defending NCAA Division II East Regional Champions Franklin Pierce University next Wednesday, February 19, at Merkert Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.

The Skyhawks have finished in the top three in the final NE-10 Presidents' Cup standings nine straight years, winning the Cup four times, including a streak of three-straight from 2009-10 through 2011-12. This prestigious award is given to the top performing athletic school in the Northeast-10, across all sports and seasons. Stonehill has received the NCAA Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Achievement each of the first two years if the program's existence of honoring programs with an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90-percent or better. The Skyhawks have earned a 97% Academic Success Ranking (ASR) by the NCAA, which considers the academic success rate of the institution based on the graduation rate of student-athletes, good for fifth among all NCAA Division II institutions, with nine Skyhawk teams receiving a perfect rating of 100%. In addition, the Skyhawks are ranked sixth in the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) Power Rankings used to assess the academic and athletic standards of all NCAA and NAIA athletic programs.
