Logan Collects Second Spalding NE-10 Rookie of the Week Award

Fredericktown, Ohio, freshman earns weekly honor for second time 

EASTON, Mass. (December 16, 2013) – Stonehill College freshman forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week by the Conference office today.

Logan, who earns the weekly award for the second time this season, posted a season-high 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range, and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line in Stonehill's lone game of the week, a 97-81 setback at Saint Anselm College on Tuesday night. Logan also posted a team-high nine rebounds to go with an assist and blocked shot in the contest.

Logan has started all nine games for Stonehill in his first collegiate season and is second on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game on 43-percent shooting, including 9-for-16 (56.3%) from three-point range, with 7.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 29.8 minutes per game. He has also totaled seven steals and five blocked shots for the year. Logan leads the NE-10 in three-point percentage and ranks 12th in rebounding. He also earned NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors on November 11, following a strong opening weekend to his collegiate career.

Logan was an All-State performer as a junior and senior at Fredericktown High School, earning Mid-Ohio Conference MVP honors as a junior. He scored 1,501 points over his career, setting a new school record.

Stonehill (3-6, 1-5 NE-10) closes out its first semester schedule on Friday when it visits Chestnut Hill College for a non-conference matchup at 2 p.m. The Skyhawks don't return home until Saturday, January 11, to host Pace University for a Northeast-10 clash at 3:30 p.m.
