Logan Named Spalding NE-10 Rookie of the Week

Fredericktown, Ohio, freshman collects honors after debut weekend 

EASTON, Mass. (November 12, 2013) – Stonehill College freshman forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week by the Conference office after a standout debut weekend for the Skyhawks men's basketball program.

Logan helped lead Stonehill to a pair of wins at its Tip-Off Classic to open the season on Saturday and Sunday by averaging 16 points on 64.7-percent (11-for-17) shooting, including 3-for-6 (50%) from three-point range, with 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and a blocked shot in a starting role over the two outings. He posted a season-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 25 minutes of Sunday's 78-65 comeback win over Queens (N.Y.) College. Logan opened his collegiate career with 14 points, nine rebounds and two steals in Saturday's 75-58 win over Georgian Court University.

Logan ranks ninth in the Northeast-10 after the opening weekend of the season for field goal percentage, sixth for blocked shots, 11th in steals, 12th in rebounding, 13th in three-point field goal percentage and 18th in scoring. Logan was an All-State performer as a junior and senior at Fredericktown High School, earning Mid-Ohio Conference MVP honors as a junior. He scored 1,501 over his career, setting a new school record.

Stonehill (2-0, 0-0 NE-10) is back in action on Saturday when it visits Saint Thomas Aquinas College for a non-conference matchup at 5 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Wednesday, November 20, for its Northeast-10 opener against Merrimack College in Merkert Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
