BRIDGEWATER, Mass.-- Senior Brian Dudley (Waltham, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and two assists for four points, while freshman Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) added three assists to lead Stonehill to an 8-6 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Johnson & Wales Saturday evening at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.

The host Skyhawks (3-5, 1-4 ECAC Northeast) used five unanswered tallies over a 21-plus minute stretch to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and take a 5-1 lead late in the second period, but the visiting Wildcats (3-4, 3-3 ECAC Northeast) sliced their deficit in half on tallies by freshmen Chris Reilly (Lexington, Mass.) and Dave Notartomaso (Winchester, Mass.) that came 37 seconds apart late in the stanza. Freshman Mike Cafferty's (Arlington, Mass.) goal with 1:41 remaining in the middle period staked Stonehill to a 6-4 advantage after 40 minutes of play, and after the two teams traded scores in the second minute of the final period, tallies by sophomore Shawn Roach (Grapevine, Tex.) and freshman Axel von Sydow (Gotheburg, Sweden) enabled Johnson & Wales to close to within one at 7-6. Sophomore Anthony Zanetti's (Ludlow, Mass.) empty-netter with 21 seconds remaining in the contest iced matters for the Skyhawks, who posted their first ECAC Northeast triumph in five outings on the season.

Senior Craig Pasquantonio (Randolph, Mass.), sophomores Matt Curran (Scarborough, Maine) and John Durkin (Scituate, Mass.), as well as freshman James Florentino (West Roxbury, Mass.) each netted goals in the win for Stonehill, which also received two assists off the stick of junior Ryan Bouchard (Arundel, Maine). Notartomaso and Roach each netted two goals in the setback for Johnson & Wales, which also received three assists off the stick of sophomore Matt McGilvary (Rochester, N.H.).

Senior Billy Petrucci (East Bridgewater, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with 27 saves on the evening, while sophomore Charlie Bacon (Hudson, Mass.) made 32 stops in net for Johnson & Wales as the Skyhawks outshot the Wildcats by a 40-33 margin for the contest.

Stonehill heads to Hooksett, N.H. on Wednesday evening for a Northeast-10 outing with Southern New Hampshire that begins at 7:30 p.m., while Johnson & Wales begins a two-game non-league weekend set with Oswego State on Friday evening in North Smithfield, R.I. that begins at 7:00 p.m.
