Field Hockey Tops Bentley in Spring Game on Senior Day

EASTON, Mass. (April 17, 2021) - The Stonehill College field hockey team honored its seniors as it hosted rival Bentley University for a spring game on Timothy J. Coughlin, '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium today.

Stonehill head coach Annie Hansbury and the College honored its senior class prior to the game with Senior Day festivities. The field hockey team's senior class of Joslyn Janeczek, Taylor Ladue, Katie Lammando, Abigail Potvin and McKenzie Woerner, helped lead the Skyhawks to 37 wins, including 29 in the Northeast-10 Conference, over their careers with an NCAA Tournament bid. The group has also been a high academic achieving class, earning multiple NE10 Academic Honor Rolls, Athletic Director's Honor Rolls, National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad selections, participated in the SURE Program and HOPE Trips at the College, with Woerner graduating as the top chemistry student in her class next month.

On the field today in the spring game, Stonehill scored three unanswered goals after the teams were deadlocked at a goal apiece after a quarter of play, for a 4-1 decision. The Skyhawks got goals from four different players to offset a Falcons penalty stroke with 23-seconds remaining in the first quarter that leveled the game. Sophomore Andrea Caradonna broke the team with a goal off a penalty corner with 1:12 left in the first half. Lammando started and played the first three quarters, recording six saves, while junior Abigail Campbell went the final 15 minutes and made a couple nice stops to preserve the lead. Woerner also collected an assist on Stonehill's third goal of the contest in her senior game.
