EASTON, Mass. (October 23, 2019) – Stonehill College used a three-goal third quarter to open up a four goal advantage on its way to a 4-1 triumph over the University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action on Timothy J. Coughlin, '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium this afternoon.

Sophomore Olivia Cameron led Stonehill with a pair of goals, sparking a three-goal third quarter that broke the game open to seal the win. Classmate Emma Mawn dished out two assists for the Skyhawks, who also got goals from senior Michael Antonellis and freshman Madi Weber.

Antonellis also led a solid defensive effort for Stonehill that limited New Haven to just four shots - none in the first half, chipping in a defensive save. Junior Katie Lammando finished with one save on the afternoon. Junior Natalie Shaker kept New Haven within reach with 17 saves, including ten in the second half.

Sophomore Taylor Geaglone netted the lone goal for New Haven off a penalty corner in the fourth quarter.

Weber opened the scoring just 3:03 into the contest for Stonehill when she tipped in a pass from the right side by Mawn for her second goal of the season. The Skyhawks carried that edge into halftime and then erupted for three goals within a five-minute span in the third. Cameron struck twice to give Stonehill a cushion it would not relinquish. She knocked in a rebound on the right post for her first goal 1:29 into the third and then tipped in a pass from the left side by Mawn for her fifth goal of the season at 34:10 for a three-goal Stonehill cushion. Antonellis capped the third quarter scoring with her second goal of the year when she followed up her own rebound with a shot high into the left side of the cage at 36:06.

New Haven closed out the scoring with just 3:18 remaining in the contest as Geaglone stepped into a corner pass by freshman Anna Racine for her second goal of the season.
