Ford Selected to NFHCA North/South All-Star Game

Augusta, Maine, senior to compete for North All-Stars in Lowell on November 10

EASTON, Mass. (October 31, 2012) – Stonehill College senior forward Brittany Ford (Augusta, Maine/Cony) has been selected to represent the Skyhawks with the North Region All-Stars at the annual National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game to held in conjunction with the 2012 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships on Saturday, November 10, at Cushing Field on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Ford posted career-highs for goals, assists and points for Stonehill during her senior season, ranking 14th among Northeast-10 Conference leaders in all three categories. She played all 19 games, starting 17, and ranked second on the team with eight goals and five assists for 21 points. In ten NE-10 games, she posted three goals and an assist for seven points. Ford recorded her first career multi-goal game with a five point effort against 9th-ranked East Stroudsburg on September 9, finishing with two goals and an assist.

Ford, a three-time NFHCA Division II Academic Squad member, played 68 games over her career at Stonehill and totaled ten goals and six assists for 26 points. She scored her first career game-winning goal in a key 2-1 victory at Saint Anselm College in the final week of the regular season to help the Skyhawks clinch a postseason berth. Ford has also been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls multiple semesters.

Stonehill completed its 2012 season with a 9-10 record overall, including a 5-5 mark in Northeast-10 play, finishing in sixth place in the Conference standings. The Skyhawks made their 15th-straight trip to the NE-10 Tournament before being topped by UMass Lowell in the first round.
