Davis Named to NE-10 All-Championship Team

Gardner, Mass., native selected after helping lead Skyhawks to semifinal round for fourth-straight year

EASTON, Mass. (November 10, 2011) – Stonehill College sophomore back Kelsey Davis (Gardner, Mass./Gardner) has been selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament All-Championship team for her efforts in leading the Skyhawks to a fourth-straight semifinal round appearance.

Davis led sixth-seeded Stonehill to its 3-0 shutout victory at third-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the first round. Playing 20 minutes from her hometown, she posted a goal and assist and led a Skyhawks defense that limited Franklin Pierce to just eight shots (two on goal) and three penalty corners. Davis set up Stonehill's second goal with a corner pass less than ten minutes into the second half and then iced the game with her second goal of the season with under eight minutes to play.

Davis started all 20 games for Stonehill in her sophomore season and finished with two goals and two assists for six points. She was a key member of a Skyhawk defensive unit which posted a 2.53 goals against average with three shutouts, allowing 13.4 shots and 5.8 corners per game.

Davis has started all 42 games she has played over her first two years at Stonehill, posting four goals and four assists for 12 points. She earned All-Rookie team honors from the Northeast-10 as a freshman and has been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls each of her two semesters completed at the College.

Stonehill, making its 14th-straight postseason appearances this fall, completed its season with a 10-10 record overall, including a 4-6 mark in Northeast-10 play.
