Four Stonehill Seniors Compete in NFHCA All-Star Game

Foley nets lone North goal in 4-1 setback to South

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (December 9, 2010) – Four seniors from the Stonehill College field hockey team participated in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game at Trager Stadium on the campus of the University of Louisville as part of the NCAA Division II Fall Championships Festival last Friday.

Seniors Courtney Foley (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield Memorial), Lauren Gifford (Goffstown, N.H./Goffstown), Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) and Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) all bounced back the day after playing their final games for Stonehill in the NCAA semifinals to represent the College on the field one more time. Stonehill third year head coach Shelly Morris served as head coach of the North squad.

Foley and Pinkham started for the North All-Stars in the 4-1 loss to the South, while Gifford and Osier came off the bench. Foley scored the lone North goal with 5:38 to play in the second half to cut the South's lead to 3-1, assisted by Gifford.

Stonehill (16-7, 9-1 NE-10) wrapped up its 2010 season last week at the NCAA Division II Fall Championships Festival with a semifinal round loss to eventual national champions University of Massachusetts Lowell. The Skyhawks were ranked fifth in the final Kookaburra/NFHCA Division II poll and finished second in the NE-10 standings to UMass Lowell.
