EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2010) – Two members of the Stonehill College field hockey defensive unit have collected weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference for their efforts in last week's regular season finale victory. Senior back Courtney Foley (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield Memorial) was named the NE-10's Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman back Kelsey Davis (Gardner, Mass./Gardner) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Foley, who was voted the NE-10's Defensive Player of the Year and a first team All-Northeast-10 selection this week by the Conference's coaches, earns Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season. She played a role in two of Stonehill's three goals in its 3-1 win at Assumption College to close out the regular season in its lone contest of the week with a goal and assist. She also led a defensive unit which surrendered just three shots (two on goal) for the afternoon.

Foley is spearheading a Stonehill defensive unit which ranks second in the NE-10 with a 1.40 team goals against average (5^th nationally) and seven shutouts (2^nd), while limiting opponents to just 9.3 shots per game, including 5.7 per game on goal. She also ranks second on the team with 19 points on a team-high matching seven assists (7^th NE-10) and six goals, including three gamewinning goals (5^th). She has also chipped in with one defensive save this fall.

Foley, named the womensfieldhockey.com Division II Player of the Week once this season, has appeared in 57 games over her Stonehill career, starting 41, and has totaled 12 goals and 14 assists for 38 points with four gamewinning goals. She earned NFHCA All-Academic honors as a sophomore and junior.

Davis earns Rookie of the Week honors for the first time after playing a key role on offense and defense in last Wednesday's 3-1 win at Assumption. She was part of a defensive unit which limited the Greyhounds to just three shots (two on goal) and also scored an insurance goal with just under 15 minutes to play in regulation.

Davis, one of three Stonehill freshman named to the NE-10's All-Rookie team this fall, has played all 19 games in her first collegiate season for the Skyhawks, starting 18. She has been a key member of a Skyhawks defensive unit which ranks second in the NE-10 with a 1.40 team goals against average (5^th nationally) and seven shutouts (2^nd), while limiting opponents to just 9.3 shots per game, including 5.7 per game on goal. She has also chipped in on the offensive end with two goals and an assist for five points.

Stonehill (14-5, 9-1 NE-10), ranked sixth in the most recent Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll and second in the NCAA North Regional rankings, clinched a first round bye for the upcoming NE-10 Tournament and will face third-seeded and No. 10-ranked American International College (14-6, 8-2 NE-10) for a semifinal clash, hosted by top-seeded and 2^nd-ranked University of Massachusetts Lowell, on Friday, November 19, at 3 p.m. The NE-10 Championship is slated for Saturday at UMass Lowell's Cushing Field Complex at 2 p.m.
