Senior goaltender Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) made three saves in posting her third shutout of the season (14th career) as Stonehill remained perfect in NE-10 play with the win. Junior Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y./Little Falls) posted six stops in the cage for American International. The Skyhawks finished with a 12-7 edge in shots and penalty corners for the match.
Senior captain Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) and junior Laura Menke (Greenland, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) scored goals for Stonehill. Junior Kathryn Nelson (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) chipped in with an assist. Pinkham has now notched a point in five-straight games for the Skyhawks, while Nelson has a point in four of their last five during the current five game winning streak.
Stonehill broke the deadlock less than five minutes before halftime when a shot by Pinkham was directed into the cage by an American International defender at 30:14 for her sixth goal of the season. The Skyhawks got a valuable insurance goal just over 12 minutes into the second half as Menke one-timed a cross from the right side by Nelson into an open net for her second goal of the season at 47:38.
