Ingersoll Named womensfieldhockey.com and NE-10 Rookie of the Week

Londonderry, N.H., native honored after leading 10th-ranked Skyhawks to 2-0 week

EASTON, Mass. (October 4, 2010) – Stonehill College freshman forward Devin Ingersoll (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) was named the womensfieldhockey.com and Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week after leading the Skyhawks to a pair of wins last week.

Ingersoll led Stonehill, ranked 10th in last week's Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, to a 2-0 week with three goals and an assist for seven points, netting one gamewinning marker. She scored the first two goals of her collegiate career and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over Southern Connecticut State University in the Northeast-10 opener for both. Ingersoll netted the gamewinning goal in Saturday's 2-0 triumph at Saint Michael's College.

Ingersoll has started all ten games in her first collegiate season at Stonehill and ranks second on the team with five assists (5th NE-10) to go with three goals for 11 points (9th) – ranking third on the team in goals and tied for second in points. Saturday's gamewinner at Saint Michael's was the first of her collegiate career.

Stonehill (6-4, 2-0 NE-10) is back in action tomorrow night when it visits rival Bentley University for an NE-10 matchup at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks next home match is Wednesday, October 13, when they host American International College at 4 p.m.
