Easton, Mass. - Behind goals less than two minutes apart midway through the second half, Stonehill pushed its winning streak to five with a 2-0 win over visiting Assumption on Wednesday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium.

With the win, the Skyhawks improve to 5-4 overall and 5-3 in Northeast-10 play, while the Greyhounds drop to 2-7 and 1-6 in Conference play.

Even though Stonehill controlled the first half, playing most of the opening frame in Assumption territory, the Skyhawks failed to capitalize on eight first half penalty corners.

Stonehill finally broke through midway through the second half when Ashley March (Schwenksville, Pa.) banged a loose ball past Greyhound netminder Danielle Luongo.

Less than two minutes later sophomore Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine) put the game out of reach when she teamed up with Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) to make it 2-0.

Luongo was outstanding for the visitors, turning away 14 shots, including nine in the first half.

Meanwhile, Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass.) needed to only make one save to post her second consecutive shutout and extend her scoreless streak to 189:16.

The Skyhawks are back in action on Saturday when they travel to St. Anselm for a 12 p.m. meeting with the Hawks.
