Gleason Nets All Three In Win Over SCSU

Easton, Mass. - Senior All-America Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) broke open a scoreless tie with three second half goals, lifting visiting Stonehill to a 3-0 win over Southern Connecticut on Thursday evening.

After a scoreless first half, the Skyhawks struck first at 14:51 of the second stanza. Gleason was camped out on the side of the net and knocked in a loose ball.

Then, just 96 seconds later, she scored again with help from Ashley Freeman (White River Jct., Vt.) to extend the lead to 2-0.

Her final tally came with 7:59 remaining on an assist from Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.).

Skyhawk netminder Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) only needed to make one save to collect her 14th win of the season.

Now 15-4 overall and 12-3 in Northeast-10 action, Stonehill plays its final regular season game on Saturday when it travels to UMass-Lowell, a team they defeated 3-1 earlier this season.
