Now Ranked No. 2, Skyhawks Host Greyhounds Under The Lights

Easton, Mass. - Stonehill has opened its 2007 season with six straight wins, catapulting the program to its highest ranking ever.

The Skyhawks are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll, which was released on Tuesday, September 11.

Bloomsburg sits at the top of the poll, having received 15 of the 16 first-place votes.

Stonehill, which features the Northeast-10's leading scorer in senior Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) will host Assumption at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.

The Skyhawks have also been stingy on defense, with three shutouts in their six games, including two in consecutive contests. The last goal scored on the Stonehill defense came in the first three minutes of their 3-1 win over UMass-Lowell on September 1.

Assumption, meanwhile handed Stonehill one of its two Conference losses last season, a 2-0 win in Worcester before the Skyhawks rebounded for a 3-0 home win.

Stonehill is playing only its second contest at W.B. Mason Stadium this season, a place they are a combined 20-3 since the facility opened in 2005.
