SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- Senior All-America Kelly Latendresse (Sidney, Maine) netted a goal and an assist to lead sixth-ranked Stonehill to a 3-0 Northeast-10 Conference field hockey victory over American International Saturday afternoon at Yellow Jackets Field.

Latendresse gave the visiting Skyhawks (7-2, 5-1 Northeast-10) the only goal they would need 2:47 before the half with an unassisted marker (her fifth of the season) to stake Stonehill to a 1-0 edge at the break. Sophomore Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) took a Latendresse feed in the 48th minute to extend the visitors' advantage to 2-0, and junior Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) closed out the Stonehill scoring in the 57th minute with her sixth tally of the year on an assist from freshman Jackie Ladino (Dartmouth, Mass.).

Junior Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) picked up her seventh win and fourth shutout of the season in goal for Stonehill with one save on the day, while junior Cindy Armand (Danvers, Mass.) made 18 stops in net for the host Yellow Jackets (2-6, 2-5 Northeast-10) as the Skyhawks outshot American International by a commanding 21-3 margin for the match.

Stonehill, which holds a one-game lead over both Merrimack and Bentley for first place in the conference standings, travels to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on Assumption in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while American International travels to New Haven, Conn. on Wednesday evening to take on Southern Connecticut in a Northeast-10 match that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
