EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.-- Senior Julie Michalos’s (Norwood, Mass.) goal 2:57 into overtime lifted eighth-ranked Stonehill to a 2-1 non-league college field hockey victory over seventh-ranked East Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Michalos converted a penalty corner from junior Courtney Campbell (Reading, Mass.) on the game-winner for the visiting Skyhawks, who took a 1-0 lead just 3:22 into the contest when sophomore Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) took a pass from Michalos for her third tally of the season. That goal held up until the final minute of play when junior Sarah Cordora (Swoyersville, Pa.) took a feed from junior Ashley Kocis (Buckingham, Pa.) with just 28 seconds remaining in regulation that enabled the host Warriors (4-4) to force overtime, setting up Michalos’s heroics in the extra session.

Sophomore Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with a five-save effort, while junior Katie Fox (Alburtis, Pa.) made six stops over the final 37:57 of play for East Stroudsburg in relief of fellow junior Miranda Fountain (Creamery, Pa.), who made a pair of first half saves. The Skyhawks outshot the Warriors by a 10-6 margin for the match in posting their first-ever victory in four series meetings between the two schools.

Stonehill hosts American International in a Northeast-10 Conference match on Saturday morning at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 10:30 a.m., while East Stroudsburg travels to Kutztown, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon to take on fourth-ranked Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match that begins at 4:00 p.m.
