EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Julie Michalos (Norwood, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist to lead Stonehill to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference field hockey victory over rival Bentley Thursday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Michalos gave the host Skyhawks (4-0, 3-0 Northeast-10) the only goal they would need in the battle of league unbeatens in the 20th minute of play, as she converted a penalty corner from junior Courtney Campbell (Reading, Mass.) for a 1-0 Stonehill advantage at the break. Freshman Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) provided an insurance tally for the hosts with just under nine minutes remaining in the contest when she converted a Michalos feed in front of the net, and sophomore Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) took care of the rest in goal for the Skyhawks, making three saves on the night to pick up her fourth straight and 13th career shutout, as Stonehill has yet to allow a goal in four matches to date this season.

Senior Kristin Johnson (Reading, Mass.) made four stops in net in the setback for the visiting Falcons (3-1, 3-1 Northeast-10), who suffered their first loss since dropping the 2004 NCAA national championship match to Bloomsburg last November. Stonehill outshot Bentley by a 10-6 margin and held an 8-1 edge in penalty corners for the contest in posting their second series victory in 16 meetings with the Falcons dating back to 1996.

Stonehill travels to Colchester, Vt. on Saturday afternoon to take on Saint Michael’s in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Bentley hosts Bryant in a Northeast-10 match on Wednesday evening in Waltham, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
