WORCESTER, Mass.-- Six different individuals netted goals and junior All-America Kelly Latendresse (Sidney, Maine) added a pair of assists as sixth-ranked Stonehill set a school single-season record for victories on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 Northeast-10 Conference field hockey triumph over Assumption at Multi-Sport Stadium.

Sophomore Jillian Klotz (Centerville, Mass.) gave the visiting Skyhawks (16-2, 14-2 Northeast-10) a 1-0 lead 10:44 into the contest when she converted a penalty corner from junior Courtney Campbell (Reading, Mass.), but the host Greyhounds (7-11, 6-10 Northeast-10) evened matters less than two minutes later when sophomore Sarah Bullock (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored on a feed from senior Sarah Roy (Fairhaven, Mass.). Freshman Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) gave Stonehill the lead for good in the 18th minute on a set-up by Latendresse, and sophomore Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) extended the visitors advantage to 3-1 just 3:41 later on a penalty corner feed from Latendresse.

Sophomore Ashley Freeman (White River Junction, Vt.) extended Stonehills lead to 4-1 in the 54th minute when she converted a pass from fellow sophomore Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) off a penalty corner, and the first collegiate goals off the sticks of freshmen Alyssa Manzi (Plymouth, N.H.) and Kellyn Hepper (Bernardsville, N.J.) in the final 2:23 of action closed out the scoring, as freshman Joanna Cloutier (Charlton, Mass.) set up Manzis tally.

Sophomore Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) picked up her 16th win of the season in goal for Stonehill with a pair of saves in 65-plus minutes of action, as freshman Sara Piper (Hollis, N.H.) played the final 4:43 in net for the visitors. Junior Kaitlin Burke (Falmouth, Mass.) made seven stops in net for Assumption as the Skyhawks outshot the Greyhounds by a 17-5 margin for the match to extend their school-record winning streak to 12 straight.

Stonehill will bring that 12-match winning skein into next weekends Northeast-10 Conference playoffs, as the Skyhawks will be the second seed in this years tournament and will take on the winner of Wednesdays quarterfinal round contest between third-seeded Bentley and sixth-seeded Merrimack next Saturday afternoon in conference semi-final round play at UMass Lowells Cushing Field in Lowell, Mass. beginning at 2:00 p.m. The top-seeded River Hawks will square off with either Southern Connecticut or Saint Michaels in next Saturdays other semi-final match, with the two semi-final winners meeting for the Northeast-10 title on Sunday, October 30th at UMass Lowells Cushing Field beginning at Noon.
