EASTON, Mass.-- Seventh-ranked Stonehill received goals from five different individuals in posting a 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference field hockey victory over American International Saturday morning at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Markers off the sticks of sophomore Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) and freshman Laura Nimon (Gardiner, Maine) in the first 10:03 of action staked the host Skyhawks (6-2, 4-2 Northeast-10) to a 2-0 advantage at the break, but the visiting Yellow Jackets (0-7, 0-7 Northeast-10) sliced that deficit in half 4:58 into the second half when sophomore Nicole Phelps (Nassau, N.Y.) converted a pass from fellow sophomore Jamie Anderson (North Attleboro, Mass.). Stonehill regained a two-goal edge just 1:18 later on junior All-America Kelly Latendresse’s (Sidney, Maine) sixth goal of the season, and tallies by junior Courtney Campbell (Reading, Mass.) and sophomore Morgan Davis (Walpole, Mass.) in the final 13:52 of play closed out the Skyhawk scoring.

Sophomores Ashley Freeman (White River Junction, Vt.) and Jillian Klotz (Centerville, Mass.) each registered a pair of assists in the triumph for Stonehill, which also received a single helper off the stick of senior Lindsay Breen (North Andover, Mass.). Sophomore Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for the hosts by making one save over 60-plus minutes of action, as freshman Sara Piper (Hollis, N.H.) did not face a shot in the final 9:11 of play for the Skyhawks. Sophomore Cindy Armand (Danvers, Mass.) made 16 stops in net for American International as Stonehill outshot the Yellow Jackets by a commanding 31-4 margin for the match.

Stonehill hosts Assumption in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while American International heads to Colchester, Vt. on Sunday afternoon to take on ninth-ranked Saint Michael’s in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 2:00 p.m.
