Jake Petrarca is entering his third season as assistant football coach at Stonehill College. He will continue to serve as position coach for the Skyhawks quarterbacks, as well as the program’s recruiting coordinator 

In 2017, Petrarca coached senior captain Matt Foltz ’18 to a record-breaking year through the air. Foltz set several single season Stonehill Football records including Pass Completions, Pass Completion %, and Passing Yards. Foltz would also set career marks for the Skyhawks in Pass Completions, Passing Yards, Pass Completion %, and Total Offensive Yards, amongst others. 

Prior to coaching the Quarterbacks at Stonehill, Petrarca oversaw a Skyhawk wide receivers unit which averaged 133.7 receiving yards per game and 14 touchdowns in 2016. The receivers were led by then-freshman Andrew Jamiel, who earned NE10 Rookie of the Year and second team All-NE10 honors while leading Division II with 9.1 receptions per game as he matched the program record for receptions with 91 in ten games - finishing just two catches shy of the NCAA Division II record for freshmen.

Petrarca joined the coaching staff at Stonehill after serving as wide receivers coach at Anna Maria College from 2014-2016. He was also the AMCATS video coordinator and had Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maryland as his primary recruiting areas. Petrarca previously was an assistant varsity football coach at West Warwick High School, in Rhode Island, helping guide the Wizards to the 2013 Division II State Championship. He was the head coach of the freshman team, offensive coordinator of the junior varsity and wide receivers coach at the varsity level.

Petrarca, who also has taught in the Pawtucket and West Warwick, Rhode Island, school districts as a long term substitute.  Petrarca is a 2012 graduate of Salve Regina University, in Newport, Rhode Island, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in secondary education and history and was a four-year letterwinner for the Seahawks football team

Petrarca, who is currently pursuing his Master's Degree from Anna Maria, resides in Braintree.
