Ben Chapman is entering his first season as assistant football coach at Stonehill. He will serve as the Skyhawks defensive line coach.

Chapman joins the Stonehill coaching staff after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Castleton University in Vermont, serving as inside linebackers coach. He coached four student-athletes that earned All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference honors over his two seasons as the Spartans posted a combined 11-9 record, including 7-3 record in 2015. Chapman assisted the defensive coordinator in constructing game plans, while conducting daily meetings with the linebacking corps and also coaching various phases of special teams. Chapman was the Spartans recruiting coordinator his second season after working as video coordinator his first year, while also calling the defensive plays for the junior varsity defense. He developed recruiting ties in Eastern Connecticut, Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Nassau and Suffolk countries in New York.

Prior to his time at Castleton, Chapman was an assistant coach for two seasons at Stonington High School in Connecticut, coaching the offensive and defensive lines. He coached six first team and four second team All-Eastern Connecticut Conference honorees, four of which also collected All-Area honors over his two years.

Chapman was a player and assistant coach during the 2013 season (March-September) with the Monash Warriors Football Team in Melbourne, Australia. He coached beginner and advanced level offensive and defensive linemen in helping expand the sport into the country. Chapman also played right tackle and defensive tackle, earning All-Victorian first team honors at offensive tackle as the team won the 2013 Vic Bowl Championship. Prior to that he was a student assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Connecticut for the 2012 season, assisting the graduate assistants with the scout team offensive line. He also was an assistant to the Huskies recruiting department and assistant to the head of football operations.

Chapman earned his Bachelor's Degree in social science of sport from Connecticut in 2012, and is on target to receive his Master's Degree in athletic leadership from Castleton this May. He was a flexible scout team member for the Huskies football program which went to three bowl games, including the 2011 Fiesta Bowl after winning the 2010 Big East Championship.
