The Game

The Skyhawks have dropped six-straight following a 12-7 setback to first-place University of New Haven last weekend, while the Yellow Jackets are still in search of their first win of the season after a 14-0 loss at Merrimack College last weekend.

Standing in the Hall of Fame
Stonehill welcomed the Class of 2018 into its Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony held on campus Friday night. Among the six inductees was football standout Mike McLucas '95, one of five 2,000-yard rushers in program history. McLucas is the first in Stonehill history to receive the New England Football Writers Gold Helmet Award after his program-record 250-yard performance against Nichols in 1994, scoring three touchdowns. He still ranks fourth in program history with his 2,160 career rushing yards, while his 15 rushing touchdowns are good for fifth all-time. Joining McLucas in the Stonehill Hall of Fame last night were: Fran Dillon '70 (contributor), Jessica Batcha '99 (volleyball), Dana DeIngenis '07 (women's cross country/track & field), Daniella Granato '08 (women's tennis) and Erin Vrysen '00 (women's soccer).

End Zone Crew
Juniors Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Mass.) and Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, N.J.) both continue to move up Stonehill scoring charts. Jamiel ranks second all-time in program history with his 23 career touchdown receptions - just two shy of Nate Robitaille '15's career record of 25. Kearns, Jr. ranks second on the program's career rushing touchdown mark with 20 - four shy of Eddie Vachon '11's career mark of 24 rushing touchdowns. Jamiel (23) and Kearns, Jr. (22) rank fifth and seventh, respectively, for career touchdowns scored in program history, a record held by Vachon (34).

Disciplined
Stonehill ranks second in the NE10 and tenth nationally in Division II for fewest penalty yards per game, giving away 36.1-yards per game on 4.5 flags per game, which also ranks second in the NE10 and 13th nationally.

Movin' On Up!
Junior running back Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, N.J.) ranks sixth on Stonehill's career rushing yardage list with 1,794 yards on 375 attempts in 26 career games played. He enters today's game with a team-high 768 rushing yards on 165 attempts, with a team-best eight touchdowns. Kearns, Jr. ranks second in the NE10 and 48th nationally in Division II for rushing touchdowns, while ranking second among NE10 leaders for attempts and third with 96.0 yards per game (37th nationally).

Aye, Aye Captains
Seniors Mike Cordova (Oceanport, N.J.), John Ejiofor (Burlington Township, N.J.), Vandy Hall (Ewing, N.J.) and James Lam (Quincy, Mass.) have been elected captains by their teammates and the coaching staff for the 2018 season. It marks the first time Stonehill has had four captains since 2016 and the second-straight year it has had a two-year captain with Ejiofor returning as a captain for the second-straight season.
