Aiken's five total touchdowns leads Setters to NE10 win
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (September 29, 2018) – Pace University outscored Stonehill College 28-6 over the final 17-minutes of the contest, with three scores of 40-plus yards, on its way to a 51-30 triumph in Northeast-10 Conference football action at Pace Stadium this afternoon.
Junior Carlton Aiken posted five total touchdowns, passing for four, rushing for another and even catching his own pass for a score, to lead Pace to the win and spoil the 300th game in Stonehill's varsity era (1988-present). He completed 17-of-20 passes for 240 yards, the four touchdowns, and one interception, while adding another 37 yards on 13 carries on the ground and the game's opening touchdown.
Sophomore Adrian Rybaltowski had two of those touchdown receptions, finishing with 133 yards on five receptions, while senior running back Jhalen Ben-Aime rushed the ball 21 times for 138 yards and a score, finishing with 182 all-purpose yards by adding 44 yards on three kickoff returns for the Setters.
Senior Kadeem Langhorne led the Pace defense with seven tackles (three solo), and a fumble recovery and return for 18 yards. Postgrad Prince Unaegbu contributed five tackles (three solo), including 2.0 tackles for a loss of 24 yards, while junior Isaiah Williams and sophomore Harrison Moran-Fernandez each recorded interceptions for the Setters.
Junior Andrew Jamiel added another record to his Stonehill career on Saturday, finishing with a season-high ten receptions for a season-best 145 yards and a touchdown. His tenth career double-figure reception game gives him 205 for his career, breaking Stonehill's career-mark of 196 catches by Nate Robitaille '15. Jamiel's touchdown catch is the 23rd of his career, moving into sole possession of second on the Skyhawks all-time list behind Robitaille (25), and sliding into third place on the program's career receiving yardage list with 2,283 yards in 24 career games played.

Freshman Justin Felder scored the first two touchdowns of his career for Stonehill, posting 77 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown on the ground, while adding two receptions for 14 yards and a score in the passing game. Senior James Lam completed 15-of-30 passes for 194 yards and a season-high two touchdowns, adding 33 yards on six carries on the ground for 227 total yards. Junior Brian Kearns, Jr. chipped in with another 72 yards on the ground on 17 attempts with a score.
Junior Miles Strickland led the Stonehill defense with a career-high 13 tackles (five solo), including 0.5 for a loss of a yard. Sophomore Nate Bresson added seven stops (four solo), including 2.0 tackles for a loss of six yards, with 1.0 sacks for a loss of five. Senior Vandy Hall posted 2.5 tackles for a loss of four yards, while classmate Jerel Archer had an interception to go with three tackles (two solo).
Pace scored the first two touchdowns of the game, with Aiken capping a ten play, 82-yard drive on its opening possession with a two-yard scoring run. The Setters doubled their lead three plays after a bad Stonehill punt when Aiken's batted pass at the line of scrimmage dropped into his hands and he scampered in from four yards out with 4:32 remaining in the first quarter.

Pace staked out a 23-3 lead, with Stonehill's points coming off the foot of junior Matt Haite who drilled a career-high matching 49-yard field goal early in the second quarter. Kearns, Jr. pulled Stonehill back within two scores just 31-seconds before halftime with a one-yard touchdown run at the end of a ten play, 73-yard drive. It marks his team-leading fifth touchdown of the season and the 17th rushing score of his career to move into sole possession of third place on the Skyhawks all-time list behind Eddie Vachon '11 (24 rushing TDs) and Anthony McSharry '99 (18). Kearns, Jr. also moved into eighth on Stonehill's career rushing list with 1,373 yards in 23 games played.
Stonehill would rally to take the lead (24-23) after Jamiel scored on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Lam one play after Archer intercepted Aiken at the Skyhawks 26 yard line and returned it 45 yards. The pickoff was two plays after the Skyhawks fumbled on a punt return at the end of Pace's opening possession of the second half.
Felder's one-yard touchdown run, the first of his career, gave Stonehill its lone lead of the night with six minutes left in the third quarter, but Pace answered with a nine play, 80-yard touchdown drive, capped by a 55-yard touchdown catch by Ryabaltowski from Aiken, with a successful two-point conversion following. He added a 59-yard touchdown catch on the first play of the fourth quarter to put the Setters back up two scores.
Aiken added a 40-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Phyll Thomas and then sophomore Kashmier Jackson posted a 17-yard touchdown run to cap the run of 28-straight Setters points that sealed the win. Felder capped the scoring for Stonehill with a six-yard touchdown catch from Lam with 16-seconds to play for the final score.
Stonehill (1-4, 1-3 NE10) returns to action following its bye week on Saturday, October 13, when it hosts Merrimack College for its Purple & White Game at W.B. Mason Stadium at 6 p.m. Pace (3-2, 2-2 NE10) visits Bentley University in two weeks, following the bye, on October 13, at 1 p.m.
