Jamiel sets NE10 receiving record with 294 yards, five touchdowns
Foltz matches program-record with six TD passes, breaks career yardage mark

EASTON, Mass. (November 4, 2017) – Stonehill College earned a big bounce-back win on a record-breaking afternoon, with a 56-30 triumph over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference football action on Timothy J. Coughlin '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium today.

Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Massachusetts/Dennis-Yarmouth) broke one NE10 record and matched another, while senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pennsylvania/The Hill School) became the program's career leader for passing yardage and became the first in program history to surpass 7,000 career yards in leading Stonehill to the win.

Jamiel matched his own program-record with 18 receptions for an NE10 record 294 yards and NE10 and program-record matching five touchdowns for Stonehill, while Foltz completed 26-of-37 passes for 385 yards and a program-record matching six touchdowns. Foltz finished the afternoon with 7,022 career passing yards, breaking the previous record of 6,927 yards by Logan Meyer '14. Foltz also matched the single-game mark for touchdown passes for the second time in his career and his 385 yards are tied for the third-highest single-game total in program history.

Jamiel surpassed the program's single-game record of 212 receiving yards by Brian Adamson against Merrimack College in 1996, breaking the NE10 mark of 269 yards by Merrimack's Isaiah Voegeli against Saint Anselm College in 2012. Jamiel also matched his own program record of 18 receptions set against the University of New Haven last season, just one shy of the NE10 record, and matched the program and NE10 single-game mark of five touchdown receptions previously set by Stonehill's Mike Plitcha '06 against Saint Anselm in 2005 and Bentley University's Dallas Mall in 2001.

Foltz will enter his final collegiate game just three touchdowns shy of Stonehill's career record of 62 by Meyer, and 86 yards away from the program's single-season passing yardage mark of 2,266 yards by Meyer in 2013 after becoming the first quarterback in Stonehill history to surpass 2,000-yards in a season three times today, finishing the afternoon with 2,180.

Senior running back Malachi Baugh (Stoughton, Massachusetts/Stoughton) posted the first 100-yard rushing game of his career as he finished with 111 yards on 13 carries, with a touchdown. Senior Kevin Dick (Tewksbury, Massachusetts/Tewksbury Memorial) and sophomore Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, New Jersey/Saint Joseph Regional) each chipped in with touchdowns for the Skyhawks as well.

Junior Nicolau Coury (Lowell, Massachusetts/Lowell) paced the Stonehill defense with seven tackles (five solo), including 1.0 tackles for a loss of three yards. Sophomore Malik Wiggins (Long Branch, New Jersey/Monmouth Regional) added three stops (all solo), including 1.0 for a loss of two, an interception and pass breakup, while sophomore Ryan Shuts (Mount Laurel, New Jersey/Lenape Regional) chipped in with five tackles (four solo) and an interception.

Junior Dan Anerella (Old Bridge, New Jersey/Manalapan) led Pace with 435 of the Setters' 519 yards of total offense as he completed 30-of-49 passes for 376 yards and two touchdowns, while being intercepted twice, while adding another 59 yards on ten carries. Classmate Jhalen Bien-Aime (Dorchester, Massachusetts/Bridgton Academy) rushed the ball 14 times for 77 yards and a score, while sophomore Darius Jones (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania/Liberty) caught ten passes for 152 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Daryl Nixon (Syracuse, New York/Liverpool) collected two touchdown passes for the Setters, finishing with four receptions and 79 yards.

Senior Matthew Corrie (South Setauket, New York/Ward Melville) totaled a game-high 12 tackles for the Pace defense, including eight solo, with 0.5 tackles for a loss of a yard. Junior Corey Holder (New Rochelle, New York/New Rochelle) chipped in 1.5 tackles for a loss of two yards and a QB hurry.

Baugh posted the first 100-yard rushing game of his career with 111-yards and a score.

Stonehill jumped out to a 28-3 lead in the first half, with Foltz connecting with Jamiel on a ten-yard dump pass across the middle on the first play from scrimmage and Jamiel did the rest on a 67-yard touchdown catch and run just 19-seconds into the game. Sophomore Pat Davis (Forked River, New Jersey/Lacey Township) capped an 11-play, 84-yard opening drive for Pace, that included a combined four penalties, with a 26-yard field goal.

Stonehill responded in its next possession with Foltz hitting Jamiel from five yards away to close out a 12-play, 65-yard Stonehill drive with 3:48 remaining in the first. Foltz found Jamiel for a pair of 18-yard touchdown catches in the second quarter to give the Skyhawks the 28-3 lead, the first capping a 15-play, 81-yard drive five minutes into the second. Jamiel finished the first half with 180 yards and four touchdowns on 11 receptions, while Foltz was 18-for-24 for 229 yards and the four scores in the half. Jamiel registered 126 yards on seven catches and two scores in the first quarter alone.

Anerella connected with Jones for a 13-yard touchdown pass for Pace on the opening drive of the second half that halted Stonehill's string of three-straight touchdowns, but Stonehill answered just two plays later as Dick caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Foltz to restore the Skyhawks lead. Pace would score three fourth quarter touchdowns, but Stonehill had an answer to each one, including Jamiel's fifth touchdown of the day on a 14-yard toss from Foltz 1:15 into the fourth, just three plays after a Pace touchdown on the first play of the frame.

Stonehill (5-4, 4-4 NE10) closes out its season next Saturday, November 11, when it hosts American International College for Senior Day at W.B. Mason Stadium at 1 p.m. Pace (3-6, 2-6 NE10) wraps up its season at Southern Connecticut State University next Saturday at noon.
