The Game
Stonehill College looks to bounce back from a tough one-point loss at the University of New Haven as it hosts rival Bentley University for a Northeast-10 Conference football battle on Timothy J. Coughlin (COG-lin), '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium as part of Family Weekend here at the College. The Skyhawks had won two-straight heading into a bye week leading up to last week's matchup with the Chargers. The Falcons emerged from the bye week with a 28-10 win over American International College.

Family Weekend
Stonehill College hosts its annual campus-wide celebration of its students and their families with Family Weekend this weekend. The weekend is filled with fun and exciting events for the entire family, including tonight's football game. One of the Best Small College Rivalries in the Country
This afternoon marks the 33rd meeting all-time between these two programs in what is regarded by some as one of the best small college football rivalries in the country. Bentley holds a 22-9-1 advantage in the all-time series, but Stonehill has won four of the last five after a 38-21 win in Waltham last November as part of the NE10's Championship Weekend. The Skyhawks have also won two straight and four of five against the Falcons here at W.B. Mason Stadium dating back to 2008. Since losing 14-straight to Bentley between 1995 and 2008, Stonehill has gone 6-4 against the Falcons since.
All in the Family
Fitting that tonight's game is being played as part of Family Weekend at the College as Stonehill freshman defensive back Sam Athy (Holliston, Mass.) and his Skyhawk teammates will face his brother, Bentley junior Nick Athy, a safety for the Falcons. Their father, Paul is the defensive coordinator at Holliston High School, and their older brother, Max, played college football at Tufts.
You Complete Me
Senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) completed 31 of a career-high 54 pass attempts at New Haven last weekend. The 31 completions are the third-highest single game total behind his own school-record 37 against New Haven last season. With his first completion of the afternoon, Foltz also surpassed the program's career completions record of 545 by Logan Meyer, '14, finishing the game with 573 in 30 career games played.
Back to Back Picks
Sophomore cornerback Malik Wiggins (Long Branch, N.J.) have both posted interceptions in each of the last two games. Wiggins opened Stonehill's win at Merrimack with a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown, and then added an interception in the end zone at New Haven on Saturday.
Bona-Fide
Senior safety Nick Bona (Peabody, Mass.) became just the 19th player in program history to surpass 200 career tackles, with his six stops at New Haven on Saturday giving him 203 (114 solo) for his career. Bona ranks fifth among NE10 leaders with his 24 solo tackles this season. Bona has also contributed two interceptions and two pass breakups.
Home Sweet Home
Stonehill returns to W.B. Mason Stadiu for the first time in nearly a month and just the third time in seven weeks this season. However, three of the Skyhawks remaining four games will be right here at W.B. Mason Stadium.
Hall of Fame
Stonehill's 1970 club football team will be honored for its contributions to the program as its founding members when it is inducted to the Stonehill Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, November 3.
Preseason Prognostications
Stonehill has been picked to finish sixth in the Northeast-10 according to the Conference's preseason coaches poll released last month. The NE10's d2football.com blogger Paul Falewicz has a much more high presaeson opinion of the Skyhawks by picking them third in his preseason NE10 poll.
Aye, Aye Captains
Seniors Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) and Nick Bona (Peabody, Mass.), as well as junior John Ejiofor (Burlington Township, N.J.) have been selected to serve as team captains for the 2017 season. Foltz returns as captain for the second straight year, while Bona and Ejiofor were also elected by their teammates and coaching staff. It marks the second straight year the Skyhawks have had a junior captain after Foltz was the first since 1999 to do so a year ago.

On Deck
Stonehill is back on the road next weekend for the final time this fall, when it visits nationally-ranked Assumption for a Northeast-10 matchup in Worcester, Mass., at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks will close out the season with back to back home games, starting Saturday, November 4, against Pace University as part of Hall of Fame Weekend at the College at 1 p.m.
