Mason Stadium this afternoon as part of Family Weekend at the College as well as the football program’s Alumni Day. The Skyhawks look to build off last weekend’s 45-34 victory over Saint Anselm in the “Battle for the Ol’ Bronze Hawk”, while the Warriors have dropped their last two after a 55-23 setback to 17th-ranked Assumption College last Saturday.

Golden Performance:
Junior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) will receive the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation’s Division II/III Gold Helmet Award, as selected by the New England Football Writers for his record-breaking performance against Saint Anselm on Saturday. Foltz earns the ninth weekly Gold Helmet in Stonehill football history and is the first Skyhawk to earn two Gold Helmet Awards over their career as he earned the honors for the first time a year ago this week. Both of his Gold Helmet awards have come after record breaking efforts, including Saturday’s record 448 total yards in the 45-34 win over Saint Anselm in the “Battle for the Ol’ Bronze Hawk.” Foltz’s first Gold Helmet came after his performance in Stonehill’s 40-37 comeback win at LIU Post last season when he posted the first 400-plus yard passing game in school history and matched the school record with six touchdown passes. Classmate Donovan Phanor (Portsmouth, N.H.) also earned a Gold Helmet during the 2015 season.

NE-10 Offensive Player of the Week:
Junior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for his record-breaking performance in Saturday’s 45-34 win over Saint Anselm in the “Battle for the Ol’ Bronze Hawk”. He earned the NE-10’s weekly honor for the third time in his career after posting a school-record 448 yards of total offense, completing 21-of-36 passes for a season-high 330 yards and five touchdowns, while adding seven carries for a career-best 118 yards on the ground. He engineered a Stonehill offense which finished with 531 yards of total offense, marking the first time the Skyhawks have surpassed 500 total yards in three seasons. Foltz completed touchdown passes of 29, 17, 26, 69 and 35 yards, connecting with eight different receivers on the day and leading the Skyhawks to scores on their first three possessions and four of the first five.

Make it a Sweep:
Junior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) was also named Stonehill’s Ace’s/Champion’s Choice Male Student-Athlete of the Week for his record setting effort in Saturday’s 45-34 win at Saint Anselm. It marks the second time in his career he has been named the weekly award recipient and he is the first football student-athlete to earn the honors this fall.

Rookie of the Week:
Stonehill freshman wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (West Yarmouth, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season for his efforts in Saturday’s 45-34 win at Saint Anselm in the “Battle for the Ol’ Bronze Hawk.” He posted his third straight double-figure reception game with ten catches for a season-high 153 yards and two touchdowns, recording his second 200-yard all-purpose game of the season with 203 yards as he added three kick returns for another 47 yards. Jamiel capped the Skyhawks first possession with a 29 yard touchdown reception and then opened the second half with a 69-yard catch and run for a score. He also earned NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors following a record-breaking effort in week two at Southern Connecticut State when he caught a program-record 16 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown as he finished with a season-best 210 all-purpose yards by adding another 61 yards on three kickoff returns.

NFF Scholar-Athlete Nominee:
Senior offensive lineman Anthony Siciliano (Monroe, N.Y.) is among 156 semifinalists named for the National Football Foundation’s National Scholar-Athlete Award and William V. Campbell Trophy the NFF announced on Wednesday. The National Football Foundation will announce 12-14 finalists on November 1, and each will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. Siciliano, who has earned a 3.43 cumulative grade point average as a computer science major, was a second team All-Northeast-10 selection in 2015 and named to the NE-10 All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2013. The 2016 Campbell Trophy winner will be culled from the 15 finalists and announced at the 59th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on December 6 in New York City and have his scholarship increased to $25,000. Siciliano is one of just 17 semifinalists from Division II, including five rom Super Region 1 and one of two from the Northeast-10 Conference.

Mitchell Award Watch List:
Freshman placekicker Matthew Haite (Kingston, Mass.) has been named to the Fred Mitchell Outstanding Placekicker Award Watch List for September following a strong opening month to his collegiate career. The Fred Mitchell Award recognizes placekickers from NCAA Division I FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA and NJCAA programs for their performances on the field as well as civic and community service off the field. The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December. Haite, who earned NE-10 Special Teams Player of the Week honors following the opening week of the season, leads the Skyhawks in scoring with 26 points (7th NE-10), having converted 5-of-6 field goal attempts - all over 30 yards - and 11-of-11 extra points through the first four games of the season. He also averaged 61.9 yards per attempt on 23 kickoffs with four touchbacks. Haite has volunteered his time with Boston Higahsi School for Autism in Randolph, coaches youth basketball and flag football in his hometown and also volunteered at Kingston Intermediate School and Angelo Elementary School in Brockton.

Total Dominance: Junior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) broke his own school record for total yards in a game with his 448 yards in Saturday’s win at Saint Anselm, surpassing his previous mark of 401 yards at LIU Post last season. His 330 passing yards on Saturday are the sixth-highest single-game total in program history and his five touchdown passes fell just one shy of the single game mark.

500!:
Stonehill racked up 531 yards of total offense in Saturday’s 45-34 win at Saint Anselm, marking its first 500-yard game since recording 503 total yards in a 41-38 overtime win at Assumption on September 20, 2013.

30 for 30:
Junior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pa.) became just the fifth quarterback in program history to surpass 30 career touchdown passes after his five touchdown day at Saint Anselm on Saturday. His 34 career touchdown passes rank fifth on the program’s all-time list - four shy of Mark Drake ‘92 for fourth all-time.

Getting Good Reception:
Freshman Andrew Jamiel (West Yarmouth, Mass.) has posted double-digit reception totals each of the last three weeks, including a program-record 16 at Southern Connecticut State in week two. He broke the previous single-game mark of 14 receptions by John Gomes ‘13 against American International in 2012. Jamiel leads all of Division II with his 10.0 receptions per game and he enters this afternoon’s game just five catches away from cracking the program’s single-season top ten list.

With Purpose: Freshman wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (West Yarmouth, Mass.) and sophomore running back Mike Cordova (Monroe, N.J.) rank No. 2 and 3 in the Northeast-10, respectively, for all-purpose yards per game. Jamiel ranks second with 165.0 all-purpose yards per game, while Cordova is averaging 158.3 per game. Jamiel has surpassed 200 all-purpose yards twice in four weeks of the season this season, including his 203 yards against Saint Anselm on Saturday. Both also rank in the top 25 nationally for all-purpose yards per game with Jamiel 16th and Cordova 25th.

Ryan Saving Defense:
Senior linebacker Ryan Doherty (Methuen, Mass.) is one of just 18 players in Stonehill history with 200-plus career tackles, entering today’s game ranked 13th all-time with 214 career stops. He has posted six career double-figure tackle performances, including 11 stops (eight solo), with a tackle for a loss of a yard, against Southern Connecticut State in week two. He is second on the team with his 29 tackles this season (14 solo) - 14th NE-10.
