Freehold, N.J., freshman is solid for Skyhawks defensive line at Southern Connecticut

EASTON, Mass. (November 2, 2011) – Stonehill College freshman defensive end Brandon Weiss (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week by the league office today.

Weiss, who earns the weekly award for the first time, is the second Stonehill freshman to collect Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining linebacker Michael Hogan (Westborough, Mass./St. John's of Shrewsbury) who received the award on October 3. He posted a season-high six tackles (three solo), including 1.5 for a loss of two yards, at Pace University on September 10. Weiss later added five stops (four solo) and a fumble recovery at Merrimack College on October 22.
