TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS TO FOLLOW

EASTON, Mass.-- Senior quarterback Joe Correia (Melrose, Mass.) completed 18-of-34 passes for a career-high 238 yards and one touchdown to lead Assumption to a 16-3 Northeast-10 Conference football victory over Stonehill Friday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Senior Kevin L'Ecuyer (Leominster, Mass.) added 99 rushing yards on 24 carries in the triumph for the visiting Greyhounds (1-1, 1-1 Northeast-10), as his 24-yard scoring scamper with 2:26 to play in the half enabled Assumption to erase an early 3-0 deficit and take a 7-3 advantage into the locker room. Correia extended the visitors' edge to 14-3 midway through the third stanza when he connected with junior Jake Beers (Duxbury, Mass.) on a 70-yard touchdown pass, and the Greyhounds closed out the scoring with 4:04 to play when freshman Jordan Belliveau (Millbury, Mass.) recorded a safety.

Junior Sean Donahue's (Plymouth, N.H.) career-best 40-yard field goal on the second play of the second quarter gave the host Skyhawks (0-2, 0-2 Northeast-10) their early 3-0 lead, but Stonehill was kept out of the end zone for the second straight contest in amassing 151 yards of total offense compared to 347 yards for Assumption.

Beers recorded three receptions for 100 yards for the winners, who also received a combined 12 catches for 126 yards from junior Jake Longenecker (Fernandina, Fla.) and sophomore Joey Fabiano (Westwood, Mass.). Freshman Dustin Zitzmann (Pinellas Park, Fla.) paced the Greyhounds defensively with 10 total tackles, as Assumption recorded five sacks on the evening.

Senior Cliff Mason II (Santa Ana, Calif.) rushed for 81 yards on 17 carries in the setback for Stonehill (the second highest total of his career), while sophomore quarterback Jon Kaloyanides (Cranston, R.I.) completed 13-of-37 passes for 92 yards in his first collegiate start, including five receptions for 35 yards by senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.). Junior Jabari Prince (Mendon, Mass.) paced the Skyhawks defensively with 11 total tackles while also blocking a field goal and forcing a fumble.

Stonehill travels to Pleasantville, N.Y. next Saturday afternoon to take on Pace in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Assumption hosts Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 match-up next Friday evening in Worcester, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
