Tarah Watson is in her third season as head coach of the equestrian program at Stonehill College. An experienced competitor in her own right, Watson brings a unique understanding of the sport, having previously worked as an instructor, trainer and manager. 

Prior to arriving in Easton, Watson spent four years at her alma mater, Saint Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.  Watson earned a Bachelor's Degree in psychology at Saint Lawrence and also received her Master's Degree of Education with a focus in psychotherapy, school counseling and human development. 

As a collegian, Watson won the Intermediate Regional & Zone Championship and earned Most Valuable Rider for the Open Division, also reaching a national ranking in 2003. Watson has extensive experience and has competed in non-collegiate disciplines such as dressage, eventing, show jumping and hunters. She incorporates natural horsemanship into her coaching theory and approach to horsemanship.  

For four consecutive summers Watson worked as a riding instructor at the Stoneleigh Burnham School in Greenfield, Mass. Watson held managerial and training positions at the Huntington and Mosses Farms in Stratford, Vt. In the summer of 2009, Watson instructed at The Ethel Walker School Summer Riding Experience in Simsbury, Conn.

A resident of Brighton, Mass., she currently maintains her professional title as staff therapist at South Bay Mental Health Center in Attleboro, Mass., as well as coach and trainer at Dry Water Farm in Stoughton, Mass., home of Skyhawks equestrian.
