Equestrian Remains Second in Region, McConville High Point Rider at BC Show

Skyhawks place sixth at Boston College show

GRAFTON, Massachusetts (November 10, 2019) – The Stonehill College equestrian team competed at the Boston College show at the Hillside Meadows Equestrian Center in Grafton, Massachusetts and finished sixth. The Skyhawks remain second in the region following a tough battle on Sunday.

  • Stonehill saw senior Emma McConville earn her first high point rider performance of the season as she finished first in open flat and second in open fences on the day. This was McConville's third high point rider performance of her career and her 16th blue ribbon of her career.
  • Freshman Haley Whittaker was the second blue ribbon of the day for the Skyhawks as she saw her third first-place finish of the season in novice.
  • The Skyhawks also saw four second-place ribbons, including McConville's ribbon. Senior Kaitlin Kotfila placed second in open fences, while junior Shannon Gorsky and freshman Ariel Goharzadeh earned it in limit fences and limit flat, respectively.
  • Mariah Hanson  finished fourth overall in open fences, while Laura Solar and Daly Ravino also placed fourth in intermediate flat and limit fences, respectively.

Stonehill will return to action this Sunday, November 17 as they compete at the Babson Show to conclude competition in the fall.
