EASTON, Massachusetts (May 2, 2019) – The Stonehill College equestrian team will send junior Emma McConville to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship in Syracuse, New York at the New York State Fairgrounds.

McConville assisted the team to its 10th IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championship this season, its first since 2012. The junior was named the Cacchione Cup rider for the region during the final show of the season, hosted by the Skyhawks. She is the first rider since Emily Dolan '13 competed in 2013 at Nationals.

The North Attleboro, Massachusetts native posted five first-place marks this season in open fences and flat. She was also named high point rider twice this season, first during the first show of the year at Brandeis University as she earned a blue ribbon in open fences and second in open flat. She earned her second blue ribbon at Stonehill's first home show in late October riding in open fences.

This was the second time she qualified for Regionals. Following this performance, she earned her second high-point rider ribbon at the Point Show in March sweeping open fences and open flat, while being named the Cacchione Rider.

McConville qualified for her first Nationals appearance after taking third at Zone 1 Championships in early April. She was the only rider out of a group of five, along with the team performance to move on to Nationals.

McConville will kick off day two of Nationals with the USEF/Cacchione Cup over fences, followed by the USEF/Cacchione Cup open flat section. A select group of riders will move on to compete on Saturday, May 4 for the USEF/Cacchione Cup Work-Off.
