Equestrian Earns First High Point Honor of Season

Scibek qualifies for her first IHSA Region 1, Zone 4


Solar earned her fourth-career blue ribbon

GRAFTON, Massachusetts (November 11, 2018) – The Stonehill College equestrian team rode to its first high point performance of the year at the Hillside Meadows Equestrian Center, hosted by Boston College on Sunday in its final Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 1, Region 4 show.

The Skyhawks were led by three first-place ribbons including senior Rachel Scibek, junior Laura Solar, and sophomore Madison Roberts.

Scibek qualified for her first IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championships with her second-career first-place ribbon in novice fences. Solar received her fourth-career blue ribbon as she took home first in intermediate flat. Roberts earned her first blue ribbon of the season, as she has now totaled her sixth first-place finish over her career.

Stonehill also saw three second-place ribbons at their sixth show of the season. Junior Emma McConville competed in the open equitation over fences riding to a red ribbon, while Kylie Katz and Hannah Lennon also took home second place in intermediate fences and walk-trot-canter, respectively.

McConville also took home seventh in open flat, while Katz rode to a third-place ribbon in intermediate flat. Also in open flat, Kaitlin Kotfila took him third place in open flat and freshman Olivia Cerretani finished fourth in walk, trot equitation.

Both Kiley Subklew and Daly Ravino each placed seventh in intermediate fences and novice fences, respectively.

The Skyhawks will take some time off, as they continue training to compete at the IHSA Zone Region 4 Championships on Friday, March 29.
